About Paula

Paula Winchel is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Personal Performance Coach who guides and motivates people to heal their mind, body, and spirit, and to connect with their inner power and beauty in order to live the life they desire. Paula’s fascination with the power of the mind, along with her belief in following one’s dreams, has led her on a unconventional and inspirational path;   one that has come full circle. A Wisconsin native, Paula has returned to her home state and established Highest Potential Hypnotherapy.

While attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Paula became interested in hypnotherapy after listening to a self-hypnosis tape for weight loss and experiencing some positive changes. In 1992, she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UW-Madison and studied at the Psychosynthesis Center of Wisconsin. After living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Paula lived in Milan, Italy and traveled throughout Europe for two years. When she returned to the United States in 1996, Paula began her training in a hypnosis clinic specializing in weight loss and smoking cessation in Edina, Minnesota. Though the clinic’s generalized approach was often successful, Paula wanted to deepen her knowledge and skills to better serve individuals and their unique needs. To that end, she journeyed to the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in San Rafael, California, where she studied with people from all over the world. After this rewarding experience, Paula moved to San Francisco and furthered her training at the Alchemy Institute in Santa Rosa, California.

Paula’s mission is to seek out and develop the most helpful modalities and programs designed to empower people to heal issues that get in the way of living an inspired life. Her ability to truly connect with people and facilitate change makes her, to quote a former client, an “unexpected gift of a hypnotherapist.”
